Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Fin. Please read them before creating an account or using the service.
1. Who operates Fin

2. Accepting these Terms
By selecting Continue, Create account, or another account-creation action, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create or use a Fin account. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. A French version is available from the language control on this page.
3. What Fin provides
Fin is a personal finance organization service. It can help you record and categorize transactions, create budgets and goals, review analytics, split expenses, store receipts, use optional AI features, and—where available—connect supported financial accounts. You can use Fin with information you enter manually. Features may differ by platform, subscription, institution, or country.
4. Important financial limitations
Fin is not a bank, credit union, broker, investment adviser, lender, money transmitter, accounting firm, or law firm. Fin does not hold, transfer, or control your money. Fin does not provide financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice. Budgets, forecasts, AI responses, alerts, categories, and other insights are general informational tools and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. You remain responsible for your decisions and should consult a qualified professional when appropriate.
5. Connected financial accounts
If connected-bank features are available, you may authorize a third-party provider such as Plaid to send selected account details, balances, and transaction records to Fin. Fin does not receive or store your bank username or password. Connecting an account is optional. You may disconnect it from Fin to stop future synchronization. Institutions and providers may experience delays, outages, duplicate records, or incomplete data. Fin does not guarantee that connected information is current or error-free.
6. Optional AI features
AI features are optional. When you use them, your prompt and relevant Fin context may be processed by an AI service provider to generate a response. AI output can be incorrect and must not be treated as professional advice or a guarantee. Fin does not use AI to approve loans, move money, execute investments, or make legally binding decisions about you.
7. Your account and responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, promptly report suspected unauthorized access, and use Fin only for lawful personal purposes. You are responsible for reviewing imported and manually entered information. You must not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, bypass security controls, access another person's account, upload malicious material, scrape the service, or use Fin to violate another person's rights.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of information and content you add to Fin. You give us a limited permission to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Subscriptions and app stores
Fin may offer paid subscriptions. The applicable app store shows the price, billing period, trial terms, and renewal terms before purchase. Unless the store states otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through your app-store account. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under the store's rules and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable cancellation, refund, warranty, or other consumer right.
10. Third-party services and availability
Fin depends on third-party services, including app stores, authentication, cloud hosting, connected-account, notification, subscription, diagnostics, and AI providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. We work to keep Fin available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features for security, legal, operational, or product reasons.
11. Intellectual property
Fin's software, design, branding, and original content are owned by or licensed to Madcode AI Studio and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Fin while your account is active.
12. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using Fin or request account deletion at any time. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a serious Terms violation. Sections that by their nature should continue—such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—remain effective after termination.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Fin is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee financial data, AI output, forecasts, categorization, availability, or third-party services. To the extent permitted by law, Madcode AI Studio is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from use of Fin. These limitations do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. For Quebec consumers, the Consumer Protection Act and other mandatory Quebec rights prevail over any conflicting provision. These Terms do not require binding arbitration and do not waive a right that cannot legally be waived.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect legal, security, provider, or product changes. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes by email, in-app notice, or another appropriate method.
